Asset Manager – 2D Elements


Add / Remove Elements *

This section holds the “New” button for New Elements and “Remove” button to Remove Elements.

New Elements

You would use this tool to import certain types of media into the elements library.

Category
        Select or create a new Category for elements to reside in.

Element
        Select or create a new element.

Type
        Select or create new type for the element. (ex: Diffuse, Spec, Normal Map)

Method
        Import Files - This is the default option that will let you import your media into the selected/created element type.
        New Element Type - This will just create the element type without the requirement of importing media.
        New Workspace Only - This will do the same as "New Element Type" but will only create the folders and data in the current user workspace.

Select Files From Directory
        Click this button to browse and select the media you want imported.

Remove Selected Files From List
        Click this button to remove the selected media from the list.

Remove Elements

Use this to remove media from the element library.

You can remove just the element or the entire category.
Make your selection(s) and use the buttons below each column to remove that item.
*Note that if you remove an item, it will remove it's hierarchy (nested items)

Element Selection *

There are four dropdown fields in this section to narrow your selection of elements.

  • Select the category
  • Select the element your interested in viewing
  • Choose what type of this element you need that is made available for that element (ex: Diffuse, Spec, Normal Map)
  • And then pick what format you need it in (ex: PNG, JPG, EXR, Tiff)

Element Versions *

This section allows for you to pick a version of your selected element.


Scene/File Versions *

To access the scene files that were used to generate the element versions, use the dropdown option in this section.

  • Select the version of the scene file
To start a new scene in your choice of software, simply select an empty slot in the Format field 

Then click on the Launch button at the bottom right

Element Info *

You can view the notes and basic metadata for the selected element in this section.


Launch Bar *

Launch your scene file using the “Launch” button in this section.
