Project Manager – Projects

The Projects tab is where you would go to create and modify all your projects. It is comprised of 5 sections:

Category Tabs *

Each tab is a category that you put your projects in.
  • Feature
  • Commercial
  • Series
  • Game
  • VR

Buttons Bar *

New Project - This will add a new item to the Projects List.
Delete Project - Deletes/removes the selected project from the Projects List.
Add Field - Clicking this button will open a small window that lets you pick what type of parameters you want added to the project.

Put in a name and pick the type of field you want it to be.
Default Field - This will add the default common parameters needed for your project.
Save All - Saves any/all projects that have been modified.
Edit Levels - Opens the Edit Levels UI.

Projects List *

A list of all the projects under the selected category.
You can double click on a project name to rename it.
*Note that if you rename a project after it has been made active, you will lose connections and access to that project. The new name will treat this project as a new project.*

Project Parameters *

A set of parameters for your project. These parameters can be used to drive other tools and data.
Some key important parameters (fields) to have in a project is:
  • Level Depth – Used in many ways to drive the folder hierarchy of a project. The Level Depth is allowed a maximum of 5, any higher and the tools will likely not work correctly with that project. More info on Level Depth is explained in the “Edit Levels” down below.
  • Version Padding – This parameter will set your scene file version style. For example, a version padding of 3 would look something like this: myProject_001_010_200_lighting_lighting01_v001
  • Path – This is an overloaded parameter and is only needed to overwrite the projects initial path.
Add parameters by either clicking on the Default Field button or the Add Field button.

Clear Button *

This is just a button to clear out any unsaved parameters and projects.

Edit Levels

Build the folder hierarchy of your project through this tool. The depth of the hierarchy structure is dependent on the Level Depth number.

The UI will change based on the Level Depth number. You can have as little as one column holding the list of folder names to make up that projects total hierarchy depth, or you can have as much as five columns.

The folder depth goes from left to right, left being the top folder and right being the most nested folder in the hierarchy.

Adding Levels (Folders)

Adding levels is easy. To add a level to any of the columns, use the text field just below the list in that column. Simply type in the name that you want that level to be called and press the enter button or click the button just beside that field.

You can add more then 1 at a time per column by separating the names in the field with comma's.

Removing Levels

To delete a level, select the level and click on the "Delete Item" button just at the bottom of that column.
